Mission Organization Part 1

It's past dinner time and my head still keeps thinking about my cluttered garage. Okey, right now I have to get up and go to my garage and this needs to be cleared up. Cluttered boxes should be thrown away already, empty cleared container should be use now for important things that need to be kept. I already have 'Keep' 'Donate' and 'Toss' boxes good this 'Toss is on demand. I am digging every single boxes we have and throw all the papers away and shred documents with sensitive information. This may take over one day of work but right night this is one of my mission, Garage Organization.

Girls Night Out

Since it's been quite a while I haven't been out dancing with friends. A good friend of mine invited me to join them in Coyote Bar in Carlsbad, CA. This place is very close to where I live, which is good cause I don't feel like driving all the way to downtown. Carlsbad Village has a lot bar as what I've heard has a lot of bar, I didn't know it 'till yesterday night. I've been to Carlsbad Village on the other side when I had one interview but that's about it.

Anyhow, yesterday night was a blast. I had a lot of fun dancing and spending quality time with my girl friends. We met at 10pm and left the bar after the bar turned on their lights which means that they are closing, we all left the bar and drove our separate ways.

Blue Passport

Yey!!! I am so happy after I check our mailbox and found the usps mail. Can't wait to open it but have to get inside the house since it's really hot today and I feel so dizzy just hanging outside. I am so excited to hold my very first blue passport and smell it it.... as you can see now how excited I am. As soon as I am in the family room I opened the small packet of package to finally first see my precious passport my very important paper for travel.

Now, am thinking where my husband and I gonna go for a vacation. But before that I have to save up some $$ first. But dream is free right?

The Wonders of Lemon and Salt

Been researching on what to do to remove the smell of an old cabinet. Baking soda does work but not fast enough the way I wanted to work. It's okey to let it sit on the back part of my fridge but I need something to remove the smell quick and not use chemicals. So, since lemon is one of many item in the kitchen that we can use for cleaning so I was thinking to mix it up with salt . Of course this is not only for lemonade that we drink.

Yesterday, I cut one lemon in half and remove the middle leave the juice put table salt and put back the juice. Put in a separate container and put them on my cabinet and refrigerator. I was amazed that it really works. My old cabinet doesn't have old smell anymore and the after smell in the refrigerator because of different kinds of food that you put and sometimes not put any lid in the container also now gone.

FrontPage 101

Finally after a few classes. I can now start using my FrontPage software. It's been sitting on my box for quite a while now and this needs to be use. I am thinking to start designing some basic website just to test out. Expect some update progress with my basic web designing.

Too Tired to Get Up

Went to bed a little late yesterday night than my usual schedule. I usually get up around quarter to 2 or around 2 am in the morning since I have the graveyard shift. So far I am having fun with my work. Though the schedule is really early for many people. I love being at work earlier since the traffic is not that bad and I can do something else during the day. From my house to work only takes me around 15-20 minute drive. It wasn't that bad right? Good thing I leave early and don't have to deal with traffic.

More Taxes

Same day as usual. Around 130pm I have to leave from my house to get to work by 2. My work is at the opposite side from where I live. Driving that far doesn't really make much sense since it's very far and it takes a lot of extra time driving and gas consumption is not at the best. Because of my interest with learning more about the topic itself, making a bit of sacrifices is a lot worthit.

First Few Days with Liberty Tax

Around middle of January, I decided to get my tax preparation certification. Liberty Tax offered free training, all you have to do is to pay your for your books, certification as well as the bond after you are done and ready to work.

I never thought that I enjoy working with taxes. I just started my very first step and there are so much stuff to learn with tax law. Hopefully this topic keeps me interested.

Since I had an extremely fast paced training until now I am still learning new things and different situations of different taxes with different people. Some are very common, yet some had its own special situation that I really need to understand to properly entry into the tax form.

Meeting at Sizzle

This is the second meeting I attended since I joined YTB. It's good to keep your brain fresh with different ideas even listening with ideas from different people. Giving a little bit of my spare time to go somewhere that I enjoy and meet new people for networking helped me calm down my frustration looking for job. As we all know most industry struggle with our economy and looking for job is really slow either for people with experience and worse with people who doesn't. Companies really do have an advantage to have a better experience people with low pay. Hopefully our economy is gonna pick up this year.

Meeting with Jhing

After I left from my tax training class I drove to Rancho Bernardo to meet up with Jhing. Yesterday night I finally made up my mined to become a member of YTB. Later this afternoon today I met with Jhing for her to show me how to get around the ytb member website. She was also showing me a lot of useful links on what I can do to help me out with the travel website. I still have a lot to learn and understand about the business process on how I am going to start the online travel business. On the way home from Charline's house my GPS took me to a road that I don't even know exist. I was driving up hill in winding road and very dark. This is the second time that my GPS is taking me to a very scenic route. I would like to drive back in that road again at day light to see what's out there. It looks like there are so many big homes and so many trees around.

Pet inside VONS Grocery Store

I don't have anything against pets. I do have pets on my own but people bringing pets at the grocery store is a big NO NO. Don't you agree with me? I was at the grocery store today doing some grocery shopping in VONS Grocery store this is one Safeway Sister company. Anyway, while I was next in line in the cash register there was one woman carrying her puppy with her. Most people that go to the grocery store usually buy food. Right? Some may just be checking prices and it's so rare for people to go to the grocery store just for fun. I myself did bought some vegges and other food to eat for dinner. Back to this woman who brought her puppy at the grocery store. Okay. The cashier was petting the puppy!!!! I was thinking this cashier is petting the puppy and is going to touch my food?! I don't want to think overboard but I am almost there. I don't hate animals/pets just to make this clear. Okay? Since the cashier is not washing her hand nor use a sanitizer then touching my food that I bought at the store I felt that I have all my rights to asked her questions. I don't want to sound rude nor mean to her, I just want some answer. So, I asked her, "Isn't it against the US Health Code to bring pets in the store that sells food unless the it's a service animal?" You may wonder what she responded to me. She said. When we asked questions about the animal that was brought in the store we get in trouble. I have a few minutes of conversations with the cashier just to asked a few questions. She mentioned to me that there's really a fine line for people bringing their pets in the store and there's no very clear answer. I was about to tell her. HELLO does the management check the goverment website at all or see the brouchure in their office about the Health and Safety of people who buy food in the store? But I decided not to. She said that they don't want to ask question at all because they get into trouble. There's some management issue in this store. This is the second time I saw pets in the store in VONS. I was thinking just for fun I should try to bring my kitty in the store and see how these people react.

Some of you who read this post may not like what I said or may agree with me. But what I am saying is that it's really not sanitary for people who buy food in the store and pets is all over in the grocery store then cashier's are petting them and then touching your food. Who knows what kind of disease these other pets carry you know or someone might be allergic with pet's hair. Or I don't want any pet hair on my produce. I have pet on my own but as a courtesy to other people I don't bring them into the store that sells food. This is just not sanitary.

2009 Update

I feel so bad with this blog that I didn't get a lot of chance to keep this updated. This year I am going to try my best to keep this updated. So much stuff that keeps me busy so I only have a bit of time to update a blog at a time. I am still on the process on what to write on the blog. Probably about job, economy, accounting, cooking, my pets and so much more....? Anyway, I may not update this blog every single day but I surely try write a few updates in a week.

Presidential Election 2008

Around 2:15PM PST I had my chance to vote. This is my very first time to vote and I am very proud to let you know. I became a US citizen last August 8, 2008 and later I registered to vote for Presidential Election.

Since I lived in San Diego in Judicial Drive during my registration the Polling location I voted is located in:

The polling place was painless. There was no long line, there's not that many people. The only situation I have encountered during my vote which it wasn't major. One of the Preposition instead I mark No I accidentally mark Yes. Well there was a mistake on my cheat sheet. So I asked for a ballot replacement and the first one will go to the spoiled box. This volunteer old man just jump all over me when I asked for a replacement ballot because I made a mistake in one of the California Preposition. He told me that you are only allowed to get a ballot replacement once and that's your only chance and if you make a mistake again after this we don't give you any more ballot.

Well, first of all people make mistake and it doesn't say that you are only allowed to make mistake once. The only sign they have said, when you make a mistake asked for a ballot replacement and don't try to correct them. Second, it doesn't say that you are only allowed to make a mistake once. They should make their sign more clear. So, I told the man, 'Do you need people to vote or not? Because as what you're treating me you don't want me to vote because I asked for a ballot replacement. I can walk out here and you can keep my spoiled ballot. People make mistakes and it doesn't say anything on the sign that you are only restricted to make a mistake once.'

Overall, my vote was successful.

Interesting Topic Today

After am done cleaning up the cabinets in my kitchen I sat in front of the television. I am watching Oprah right and the topic is very interesting and I think a lot of women are also interested with the topic. Oprah is interviewing a sex therapist Dr. Laura Berman. Their topic is very graphic and this is only suitable for adult audience.

Dr Berman said that, "Many women don't know that there are three kinds of female Clitoral, Vaginal and Blended."

She explained that:

Clitoris- Most commonly, easiest to achieved and not so easy to achieved depends with your position. The contraction is pleasurable to women.

Vaginal Oragasm - is through G spot stimulation that is internal and is inside the vagina.

Early Darkness

It's only five o'clock in the afternoon and it feels like six o'clock already. The outside feel from yesterday and today really change. It is already fall indeed and soon it's gonna be winter. I was gonna wash my car by five in the afternoon because it's not too sunny but yet it's already dark to be outside washing and making some noise with my power spray.

I had visitors over

Two of my friends Rowena and Amy visited me at home today later in the afternoon. We had cornbeef (from New Zealand), Rice, Spanish Style Sardines and Halo-Halo for dessert. My house was a mess because I haven't even started unpacking all my boxes yet. To tell you the truth, I don't want to start unpacking all the boxes until all the house work is done. Right now, we have people working with the ceiling fixing all the void spaces with dry wall since the last people who did the work seriously didn't do a well done job. I guess they are just after with the money. On the bright side though at least they already removed the popcorn ceiling. Popcorn ceiling is not healthy and obviously doesn't look good at all it does look too 80's. So far the people that are working with the ceiling right now they do a better job than the previous people and their quality of work has rofessional look than the first one. So, my new found friends finally see my crib and they feel so bad for me having too many boxes and unpacking all of them on my own. They offer a help and possibly squeeze me on their schedule over the weekend after all the ceiling work is finally done.

After our lunch since we ate too much we went for a hike. We were walking aroud the neighborhood for a good 20-40 minutes I think.

Another Busy Day

Today I had my alarm at quarter to five, but too lazy too open my eyes and get up until past five. My cellphone alarm just keep beeping and I just did not care to turned it off. Good thing I spent my whole evening downstairs or else I woke up my husband early. I spent my whole evening and feel asleep in our family room because I have not finished my review yet. That is why I prepare to get up early to finish my tutorial and reading with fundamentals of accounting, quickbooks, and excel. I just did not have a lot of time to review a few days earlier because I am too busy moving. Finally, just yesterday I spent almost all day reading and listening with the tutorial and from 530 in the morning today until 100pm I still continue my reading.

Challenge Moving to a New Place

Moving from one place to another is always been a challenge for many people. I move over five times this year alone. I am hoping that this is our last move for now and settle down in the future somewhere that my husband and I like and enjoy to live. I am so glad thought that finally we have a place we can call home. I prefer myself living in a house than in the apartment as long as we can afford it. This doesn't make sense to me wanting to live in a house if we couldn't afford it. I guess we got lucky this year that we found a house in a very good neighborhood with affordable price. As soon as the house was back up on the market we didn't wait very long to give an offer. Though the house needs TLC and do a little bit of fixing we are so happy to own this house. We officially moved in our new home on October 8, 2008. I think this is a very luck number and hopefully this house would also bring us luck and blessings.

Bolsa Chica Reserve

After the Duathlon event in Huntington Beach, CA hubby, mingming and I was going to walk around the beach, so our mingming on the leash was ready to go. It was around 0930 or 1000 in the morning. When we were walking at about a few meters in the sandy beach one woman told us that there was a sign said "No Dogs Allowed" she also said that "Because it's a cat maybe it's okay". We were talking with the woman for a few minutes. When we had a few steps forward the lifeguard came out from his nest. He shouted, "No Dogs Allowed," including the woman we we all shouted back "It's a Cat!!" again... he shouted, "No Dogs Allowed". We thought that he didn't heard us, so we all shouted back the same thing "It's a Cat." The third time we were trading the same message, some people in the beach under the umbrella joined us to let him know that it's not a dog and it's a cat on the leash.

Finally, he shouted "That one too is not allowed in the sand". He also said, "No animals allowed in the sand".

Well I guess our teased worked out very well. I think that young man ran out of what he gonna say.

Later, we decided to drove by Bolsa Chica Reserve outside the beach. Michael and I walked around the ground while our mingming was relaxing inside the car.

Seafood City in Mira Mesa, CA

'I have to drive' Even though I am very nervous just thinking about driving in the freeway of San Diego, I need to get out the apartment. I don't want to be stuck in the apartment for days and really nothing much do but surf the net after doing my household chores. I finally used my husband's birthday present to me "Nuvi Garmin GPS". This really very helpful getting around new places and roads.

I went to Seafood City Grocery Store to buy something to cook for dinner. I bought fish and asked the attendant to fry them. I also had 1 fresh and cleaned fish for me to cook paksiw at home. I bought a few vegetables and fruits as well.

Good thing the road wasn't that busy. I was hoping the traffic wasn't supper bad, thankfully it wasn't. It only took me about 15 minutes drive from my apartment. I really have to start to get use driving around the busy road of California.

Vegetable Couscous

Serves: 4

Fluffy dish will tickle your taste buds.

INGREDIENTS
1 small onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced and pressed
2 medium green bell peppers, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup dry couscous
1-1/2 cups water
2 small tomatoes, cut into wedges

DIRECTIONS
1. Sauté onion, garlic and green pepper in oil in a large skillet until soft, then push to sides of pan.
2. In the center of the skillet, pour in the couscous. Add the water to the couscous, stirring gently. Top this mixture with tomato wedges and the cooked green peppers; cover pan for 3 minutes.
3. Add a little water and cook longer, if needed. Couscous should be light and fluffy.
